I know that many women experience bloating, mild cramping and slight backache as pre-menstrual physical signs or symptoms. Anyway, my doctor told me that as the uterus grows, these sensations might also be associated with early pregnancy. That is why I want to hear if anyone could tell me for sure answer to my question. Can you have cramping before period, but possibly be pregnant in the same time?

I have to say if woman have strong or severe cramping or pain, she should contact her local doctor. This should be done especially if woman knows she is pregnant or she doubt of pregnancy. If severe cramping before period occurs, she might be pregnant but there are many things, which could go wrong before implantation. That is why any strong sensation should be reported to gynecologist. I know many cases women reported cramping before period and after this, they were pregnant. Like many of you women, I am experiencing cramping, but no menstrual flow, so normally I doubt of pregnancy. I have had this cramping for about a week and a half with extreme fatigue. With my last miscarriage, I had premenstrual like cramping. I know there are many women that have been trying to get pregnant, and are confused with all this cramping. That is why I could tell you, if you notice light cramping before period, as menstrual is, it could happen you are pregnant.

Sure you can. Cramping can be one of the period symptomsbut it can also be pregnancy symptoms. Now, I want to know how strong that intensity of the pain is? If this pain is strong, that means that something is not OK (usually something is not OK).
A lot of reasons can causethat bleeding. I don't want to scare you, but it can be because of the miscarriage, because of some health issue, etc.
To realize what is going on with your body, you should do some tests and try to find the cause.
You should not hesitate to do that.

Hi,
It is possible you could be pregnant. You are best waiting until you are a couple of days late and then taking a test. Repeat it again in a few days if it is negative and you are still late
I am 3 days late and have an achy feeling in my pelvis, but since I had a M/C at 6 weeks last time I am waitinganother couple of days for a blue line moment!
Good luck

Hi,
How are you all? I have few questions. I am also 9 days late on my periods, That's 37 days. My periods are normal. I checked hpt & It came negative. I have cramps, backache, feeling tired & breast tenderness. Could I be pregnant even I got negative hpt? I took birth control pills just one month supply on July, My last menstrual period was 2 August. So I am wondering that these symtoms are pregnancy signs or Birth control pills side effects(I did not take birth control pills on August). We are sexually active & I am ttc for a year. Can anyone please let me know that could I be pregnant or anything else.
Please, Reply me. Because I read lot of stories about people getting negative hpt result when they are pregnant? Is it possible? If I am pregnant, We will be very happy.
pjsmom41706, I read your message. What do you think? Could I be pregnant? Because you told that you were pregnant & home pregnancy test showed negative result. Really appreciated.
Thanks & Good luck to you.
Meenu.

My last normal period was july 19th. I'm usually on a 28 day cycle. August 11th I got my period again with super severe cramps, sometimes they were so bad I couldn't even stand up. So I went to the hospital, they took a pregnancy test, infection test, did internal exams, the whole works, and pumped me up on morphene because the pain was so bad. .... anyways, they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Today is September 8th, and I'm on the 4th day of my period (it's usually 7 days) I got those really bad pains again on sunday, they're not menstrual cramps though, they're waaaaay worse, i don't even remember what my pre-menstrual or menstrual cramps feel like anymore. so i went back to the hospital and they still couldn't figure anything out. I started my period on Tuesday.. early again. With a light, brown blood, flow. Then wednesday and thursday were pretty normal... Today's friday, the 4th day, and there's only light, brown, spotting... which so is not normal for me at all. My aunt has endometriosis, but i'm only 17! My periods are never irregular like they have been these two past times, these cramps are so bad, they interfere with everything because i can't do anything else except lay in bed...which doesn't help anyways, they're on the left lower side of my stomach near my hip, and the lower middle of my stomach too!! owww they hurt so bad!! i've been extra tired lately, my breasts hurt whenever my boyfriend touches them, i don't know what to do... would someone please tell me what's going on!!!

I understand how you feel because I have the same problem maybe even worse. The pain gets so bad sometimes, if I don't take painkillers way before, then I start throwing up, shivering, sweating, and can't stop screaming from the agony! I am 28 now and don't remember having this problem earlier than 16. It all started around your age so it is not necessarily something to worry about. My periods have also been irregular for years. It just happens to some people and some I guess are just luckier than others and suffer less. However, most likely this is happening to you because your body and hormones are changing as you mature. It is also perfectly normal for breasts to be tender and swollen during menstruation. Try not to let it worry you and have regular checkups with a doctor you trust. He can prescribe some medication to help alleviate the pain.

I just tested positive for pregnancy and was little worried cause I felt some light pulsating cramping in my lower right abdominal/uterus area. I've been told that it could be from embryo implantation which is not too uncommon. I think if the cramping gets worse, than I'm going to my MD since I don't want to risk it being an ectopic pregnancy.

I have been on Chomid and we are now taking Tamoxifen to try and help us get pregnant as I suffer with pcos and am unable to do it on my own. I have been having mild tummy cramps and aches for a few days now but my period isnt due till around the 26th Nov and its only the 16th Nov. I am also suffering with really bad backache, but it feels different to menstral backache, its more like my muscles have gone to sleep. I am also feeling very aching in my whole body, like my I am really week, even typing this is making my muscles in my arms ache. I have been really tired of late to, but have put that down to the Tamoxifen as it causes insomnia so I'm not sleeping to well.
Can someone please give me their thoughts and could it be a good or bad sign. After trying for 7 years for our daughter and nearly 3 years so far for another we'd love something good to happen.

FAQs
Can you have cramping before period but possibly pregnant? ›
Cramping
Increased blood flow in the uterus can cause cramping. These cramps are usually mild, but if they become severe enough to affect your daily routine, you should see your doctor. Many women experience similar cramping right before their regular menstrual period, but it's a common early symptom of pregnancy.
Implantation. If sperm fertilizes an egg, it's possible to feel cramping when an egg implants into your uterine wall. This usually happens close to the time a period is expected, but depending on when ovulation and conception occurred, the implantation cramping could happen as much as a week before your period.
Do you start feeling pregnancy symptoms when you're supposed to have your period? ›Bloating, headaches, and back pain can also be symptoms of—you guessed it—both early pregnancy and PMS. It can be confusing (not to mention frustrating) when you're experiencing so many similar symptoms during your two-week wait.
Can conception feel like period cramps? ›Other early signs of pregnancy
Implantation cramping or bleeding may be an early sign of pregnancy. It is easy to mistake period cramping or a light period for symptoms of implantation. Because of the similarity of symptoms between menstruation and implantation, it helps to know the other early signs of pregnancy.
When Does Implantation Cramping Occur? Not everyone experiences implantation cramping. If you do notice it, the cramping usually happens anywhere from 3 to 10 days after ovulation—about two to nine days before your regular period is scheduled to arrive.
What type of period pain do you get in early pregnancy? ›Cramps similar to menstrual cramps can be common during the first and second trimesters. This normal early pregnancy cramping lasts from a few minutes to a few hours. The cramps are usually mild and may lessen with position changes. Another common pain is known colloquially as lightning crotch.
What do early pregnancy cramps feel like before missed period? ›Before you have a missed period, an egg that's been fertilized needs to implant in the lining of your uterus where it will grow—and that can come with a little noticeable discomfort. Implantation cramping is completely normal, and “may feel like a little twinge, aching or pulling sensation,” Greves says.
Why am I cramping days before my period? ›Though the majority of cramps happen right when your period starts, it is possible to have cramps days before your period. This happens due to a condition called premenstrual syndrome (PMS). PMS occurs due to your body's changing hormones right before a period.
Where are implantation cramps located? ›Where do you feel implantation cramps? Most women experience implantation cramps in their lower abdomen or lower back. On occasion these cramps will be isolated to one side of the body and be felt within the lower right or lower left side of your abdomen.
Why do I feel pregnant before my period? ›Many people experience what seem to be pregnancy symptoms shortly before their period arrives. This happens because the hormone progesterone rises both during early pregnancy and in the premenstrual period.1 In short, PMS symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms can sometimes be exactly the same.
How do you know when you conceived? ›
Missed period
The first sign of pregnancy is usually missing a period, about 2 weeks after you've conceived. This isn't always reliable and if your periods aren't regular you might not notice you've missed one. Some women have a bit of bleeding as the egg embeds. Many women also experience tender breasts.
“Early on in your pregnancy, it's natural to feel some mild cramping in your lower abdomen at infrequent times as your body prepares for your growing baby,” Dr. Nalla said. As your belly grows, so does your uterus. This may cause you to feel some slight pulling, tugging or stretching similar to menstrual cramps.
What day is implantation cramping? ›Implantation bleeding and/or cramping will typically start one to two weeks after fertilization, which (confusingly) is around a similar time to when your period is expected to start.
Is pregnancy cramping the same as period cramping? ›The core difference between PMS vs. pregnancy cramps is that the cramps during early pregnancy are not as severe as in PMS and also occur lower in the abdomen. Some women also report early pregnancy cramps in the lower back.
Where do you feel period cramps vs pregnancy cramps? ›Many period cramps can be felt on just one side of the lower abdomen as one of the ovaries releases an egg. Early pregnancy cramping might be more likely to be felt across the entire lower abdomen, pelvic area, or lower back.
Do you get cramps when you're 1 week pregnant? ›Some women have no pregnancy symptoms at week 1, while others may experience symptoms such as fatigue, breast tenderness, and mild cramping.
Why do I have cramps and white discharge but no period? ›Cramps and white discharge without a period can sometimes be a sign of pregnancy. Other possible causes include pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, and an infection. Vaginal discharge is normal, and it typically changes texture and color throughout the menstrual cycle.
How I knew I was pregnant before my missed period? ›The takeaway
There's no way to know for certain if you're pregnant before missing your period other than taking a home pregnancy test. Some women do experience symptoms such as fatigue and nausea. These could be PMS symptoms, however. If you still aren't sure you're pregnant after taking a home test, see a doctor.
The sensation is different from person to person, but in most cases, they feel like mild cramps, usually dull and aching, or light twinges. Some people also describe feeling a prickling, tingling, or pulling sensation. The sensations may come and go or last for one to two days before disappearing.
How do you know if your egg is fertilized? ›The fertilized egg (called an embryo) implants (attaches) into the wall of your uterus. This triggers the placenta to form. Your placenta begins producing and releasing human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) into your blood and pee. HCG can be found in a person's blood around 11 days after conception.
How do you know if you conceived after ovulation? ›
...
The earliest symptoms of pregnancy you may start to notice include:
- Cramps. The earlier days of pregnancy may include abdominal cramping. ...
- Spotting. ...
- Nausea. ...
- Tender breasts.
Trace levels of hCG can be detected as early as eight days after ovulation. That means you could get positive results several days before you expect your period to start.
Do you get gassy after conception? ›Increased gas is another early indication of pregnancy. It is very common in your first few weeks of being pregnant and can continue throughout your entire pregnancy.
How soon does bloating start after conception? ›While some women may not experience any bloating at all or only have it for the first few weeks, some may experience this symptom for their entire pregnancy. However, it typically begins in the first trimester, around 11-12 weeks and worsens around the third trimester as your growing baby takes up space.
Which side does a girl implant on? ›Ramzi theory suggests that a healthcare provider can use ultrasound images to detect the fetus's gender as early as six weeks' gestation. If the placenta implants on the right side, the baby's sex is male. If the placenta implants on the left side, then the baby's sex is female.
Can you have implantation cramps 7 days before period? ›Implantation cramps happen when a fertilized egg nestles into the lining of your uterus. This implantation pain is usually milder than menstrual cramps and happens about four to eight days before your period is due (about six to 10 days after ovulation).
Can you be pregnant a week before your period? ›Although it is possible to get pregnant in the days leading up to your period, it isn't likely. You can only get pregnant during a narrow window of five to six days a month. When these fertile days actually occur depends on when you ovulate, or release an egg from your ovary.
Can fertilization cause cramps before implantation? ›If implantation doesn't occur and you're not pregnant, the uterine lining will begin to shed, resulting in a period. Implantation bleeding and/or cramping will typically start one to two weeks after fertilization, which (confusingly) is around a similar time to when your period is expected to start.
What's the difference between implantation cramps and period cramps? ›The difference between implantation and PMS cramping is a positive pregnancy test, Ross says.
